Oh, wow! This Katsucon was by far my best con experience, so far. I can't believe how much I have grown as a cosplayer, in the span of a year. I'm very excited to share photos of my cosplays with everyone, as they make their way onto the web.
Friday I spent the early part of the day helping
TresWildCosplay, while she cosplayed Magik as Darkchilde. Afterwards, I got suited up for Meru and trekked the con doing some photoshoots, until it was time to meet up with my group. I had so much fun shooting with
FireLilyCosplay and
EmmyLou. Thank you, for inviting me to join in on your group!
Saturday I spent the early part of the day in Freya. I was so happy with how this costume worked with the convention space. When I started work on Freya, I actually made it with the Gaylord in mind. The curtains in the gazebo area were actually nearly the exact golden yellow color on my costume. It was pretty crazy! I did some photoshoots, along with
shadowhearts as Chii. Thank you, for braving the cold with me and being my Chobits counterpart. I can't wait to see how our photos together turned out.
Later that night was Cowboy Bebop with
TresWildCosplay and my boyfriend. Honestly, this was probably the biggest highlight of my weekend. My boyfriend is such a good sport and very supportive of this quirky little hobby of mine, so I was very happy to include him in a Cowboy Bebop cosplay group, as Spike. We all had a blast together and our costumes were so well received by everyone. None of us smoke, but we even bought a pack of cigarettes to use for photos. Julia is a pretty simple costume, but it is probably now one of my favorite costumes to wear because it's pretty low fuss. Had I not been wearing heels earlier that day, I probably would have worn the costume even longer.
Sunday was a bit hectic because we had to load everything in the car, while I was wearing Umi. The dress has about 12 yards of fabric in total, so racing around the hotel was a bit interesting, to say the least. After that, I was able to squeeze in a couple shoots and then hit the road.
Thank you so much to everyone that came over to say hi to me. Even if I was in a rush to get somewhere, it really made me feel very welcome and very flattered to hear positive feedback on the work I had brought to Katsu. I did spot a couple people around the con that I thought I recognized, but honestly I'm pretty shy, so I was a bit chicken to approach some people
